Not funny. Just always found it to be an odd quirk of the language resulting from incorporating too much French imo.
Like slaughter a cow (English) and it somehow becomes French (beef).

Just watched “The Other Side of the Box” a 2018 horror short (15min) and it absolutely left me wanting more. Definitely recommend this one.
