This is actually on a makeup pouch which I find the most hilarious - if I’m so magical, shouldn’t I be able to magically get rid of these dark circles? Magically have red lips? My fingers would be photoshop tools? Until then, I’m flesh with foundation on it.

@Stretchedwiener Crazy how much of digital editing still traces back to those darkroom tricks. Dodging and burning really is timeless.

By the way - this run parallel to traditional chemical based photographic process. We could, at the time, spot lighten and spot darken specific controlled areas, while it was developing. We called it "dodging and burning". What? The same name as those two Photoshop tools? What a coincidence.
