Confirmed News Update, September 29: The Global Sumud Flotilla Receives Aid from Turkish Naval Ships Organizers confirmed with Drop Site that Turkish navy ships are facilitating humanitarian aid from the Red Crescent, after the naval ships provided rescue help to the ship “Johnny M,” which sent out a mayday signal at dawn. It has not been confirmed whether the Turkish naval vessels will join the flotilla’s mission to Gaza. Two civilian ships from Turkey have joined the fleet, and one Italian navy vessel and one Spanish navy vessel have been spotted and have also reportedly joined the fleet for rescue purposes. Organizers provided a statement on these developments: “The fleet temporarily paused after ‘Johnny M’ sustained a leak in the engine room. The situation could not be resolved at sea and the vessel is unable to continue. All participants have been safely transferred to another vessel, some will be reassigned to other boats and others will be brought ashore. We are grateful to the Red Crescent, in coordination with the Turkish government, for facilitating the safe return of participants and delivering additional humanitarian aid to the fleet. This will not cause significant delays to the mission, which is set to arrive in as close as 4 days.” On Tuesday evening, the flotilla is expected to reach 150 nautical miles from Gaza, the likeliest distance where Israeli forces will conduct interception maneuvers of the 40+ ships. Report by Drop Site’s Alex Colston (@enoughformethx).

It’s time for Bibi to go.
