@PeterHarry567 Why cannot banks see that if they can pay that amount if rent consistently then they should have an honoured mortgage. My son pays 1400 per month rent bills not included has done for 2 years. Yet banks wont offer mortgage because he doesn't earn enough RIDICULOUS

One thing puzzles me. A young couple cannot get a mortgage for 900 quid, yet they pay 1200 quid rent? What are the banks doing?
