So much admiration for Slot’s comments here. Martinelli’s a very nice humble guy (I’ve met him) and clearly thought Bradley was time-wasting. When he knew he was badly wrong, he immediately apologised. But Slot is so right about the modern play-acting scourge. It’s pathetic.

Tonight, I became 100% sure that players are against the manager. When it matters, like at Anfield against Madrid or the Emirates against Arsenal, our players show up and give their all, concentrating 100% on every ball. When they play Leeds, Wolves, PSV etc, a lot of things are wrong, and we make silly mistakes all the time. It shows you that there is too much quality in this side to fight for the top 5.

My two cents on #ARSLIV - yes, not a great day at the office for the Arsenal. We’ve all had them at our work. Calm down - Arne Slot had a mature n sensible take on the Martinelli-Conor incident. Gabby thought he was play acting n reacted. Conor in fact moved into the pitch as well. Still not a great look from Gabby at all; he’s apologised and has no history of being stupidly aggressive.
