@CuOndaFlipside My concern is with the role they will play. If ICE shares information I’m fine with it.
If they have an active presence & start breaking windows & yanking people out of cars that’s a non starter for me - the reputational damage to Canada would be huge
Have a nice day
Why are we letting ICE agents in Canada to work at the World Cup? Don’t we have enough police to handle this ourselves? Please retweet if you don’t want them here rss.thecanadianpress.com/rss/2b4fe77c-5…
How many Canadians and other countries will continue to avoid visiting the United States of America under Trump's leadership?
I'm hoping that this post will spread far and wide, and hopefully, the powers that be will see the errors of their ways. Until then, I'm not visiting.
@nationalpost Sure, why not, as if AC was affordable before oil was $100 a barrel. Horrible airline should have been out of business decades ago if not for taxpayer buyouts.
In the 1970s, a small Canadian town called Dauphin was chosen at random for a remarkable experiment.
The government gave every resident a guaranteed basic income — the equivalent of about $15,000 a year in today’s money — with no strings attached and no way to lose it.
What happened next was fascinating.
People spent more time with their kids. Very few quit working entirely, but many stopped accepting terrible jobs, which actually raised overall working conditions. Employers had to offer better pay and standards to attract workers.
But the most striking result? Hospitalizations for severe depression and anxiety dropped by 9% in just three years.
Johann Hari shared this story and it left me thinking: what if a simple floor of financial security could meaningfully improve mental health at a population level?
It’s one of those rare real-world experiments that makes you question a lot of assumptions about work, poverty, and human well-being.
Have you ever heard about the Dauphin experiment before? What surprised you most?
Is she leaving because they see what's coming in Canada, OR
She sees the outrage growing from her not being able to speak French and doesn't want to be accountable?
I couldn’t help but stop in to taste a little bit of home and celebrate one of Canada’s most iconic brands while in Austin. I learned about how Tim Hortons plans to grow across Texas. It’s great to see a company with deep Ontario roots having a global impact.
How will they provide low-cost groceries if they have higher labour and operating costs than private grocers?, writes Anthony Furey

@nationalpost Get over it, he is running an airline and they are actually profitable and not seeking taxpayers money to stay alive. So he doesn't speak French, who cares.
I'm installing a brick patio in my backyard this summer and I needed 1,600 4 x 8 bricks.
Rona wants $0.99 per brick which would be $1,584 CAD.
Across the border, I was able to get the exact same bricks for $400 USD. That's about $560 CAD.
Happy to do business with Lowe's 😊
