Dear learned colleagues, As NBA elections draw closer, one of the fundamental things we must appreciate is hearing directly from the candidates. As such, this Space is an opportunity for us to do that and I look forward to having robust conversations over the weekend. Feel free to register, share and join. x.com/i/spaces/1wxwj…

AJIGIJAGA… the storied thespian. I wish I could remember the title of that movie; the home video was probably released around 1998 or 99. The cast included Wunmi, Lola Idije, Chief Karan, Lekinson and Ajigijaga, if I recall correctly. The plot centred around Chief Karan, who marries Wunmi as his second wife. After a few weeks, he embarks on a three-month business trip abroad. Lekinson, Wunmi’s old flame, is unhappy seeing her with a wealthy businessman. He lures her out of her home to his house for an intimate discussion. (Once you debẹ, you will always debẹ), street legends will understand this street maxim 😂😂 Both Wunmi and Lekinson have an affair, ostensibly for the last time… in what Yoruba would call “jẹ ki ń mu t’oju mi kuro”. In a nutshell, Wunmi becomes pregnant outside of wedlock, leaving her distressed and confused. Lekinson is responsible. How will she explain the pregnancy to her husband, Chief Karan, who is not the one responsible for the pregnancy? Enter Lola Idije… in whom Wunmi confides about her affair with Lekinson. Chief’s return is imminent, and Wunmi’s pregnancy must be removed. But how? Idije takes Wunmi to a discreet hospital operating out of the prying eyes of the authorities. Idije introduces Wunmi to the hospital’s ‘Chief Medical Director’ — ‘Doctor’ Ajigijaga — for an induced abortion. Ajigijaga boasts of his expertise in abortions, claiming he has successfully removed seven-month pregnancies without complications. This reassures Wunmi and makes her feel relieved. The day of the procedure is set; the charges paid in advance. On the day of the procedure, ‘Doctor’ Ajigijaga (as filmed) forcibly severs the foetus from the womb. His contorted mouth and gnashing of teeth literally show the amount of force he applies to the procedure. Ajigijaga damages Wunmi’s womb, tearing apart every tissue and fibre. The quack even forgets to remove a surgical needle from Wunmi’s womb before sealing up the patient, who is already distressed. He discharges her immediately. “Madam, you can’t sleep here. Patients usually leave after such a procedure to recover at home,” Ajigijaga told Wunmi. Wunmi left in pain. Three days later, Chief returned from his trip to find his new wife writhing in pain. She couldn’t immediately explain what had happened to her husband. When the pain became unbearable, she confessed to having an abortion. Prodded further, Wunmi fingered Lola Idije and Ajigijaga. Chief Kanran called in the police. Lola Idije, in her usual manner, told the police she was trying to help her friend. Lekinson vanished into thin air upon learning his old lover had passed. “Where is ‘Doctor’ Ajigijaga?” Chief Karan asked. He closed down the hospital and disappeared from the town 🤣 RIP Mufutau Sanni Abdullahi, aka “Ajigijaga the Broken Bottle”.

You guys promised not to laugh 🤲 His name is Ayuba. One day, he asked me out on a date. I told him to ask my mum first. My mum said we should go by 3pm and be back by 5pm, as she was also going to a wedding party that day. I entered my wardrobe, brought out my ìṣàlẹ̀ àpò tí… few minutes later, I was ready but guess what? I looked like I was going to preach inside the witches coven… aside the colour. I looked like a proper Jehovah Witness pro max 😭 Let me take you guys through my outfit: Red shirt, black skirt suit, red cover shoes , red bag, red hat 💀 I was looking like advanced Ṣàngó. The only difference was that I wasn’t puffing fire from my mouth… but everything else? Ṣàngó Olúkósọ́ fully 😭 Everywhere danger 😭 Who remembers that P-Square “Danger” song? 😭 That song was me that day 💀 You think he looked better? Rárá. Baba bootcut trouser was bigger than Fela’s But in my head… my “sharp-looking” baby 😔 You already know the voice speaking in my head… LOVE Looking back now… something was definitely wrong with me 🤦‍♀️ Anyways, we sha went to Tantalizers. Ordered meat pie and Vita Milk. We even took pictures like proper lovers 😂. I was checking time because I know my mum By 5pm, I said let’s go… But this man said, “let stay small, mumsi won’t be angry” Omo… we stayed till past 7 💀 We bought food for my mum, got home and knocked… My mum: “Ta ni yẹn?” Me: “Èmi ni ma…” My mum: “Ìwọ ta ni?” 😏 Me: “Tina ma…” My mum: “Tina wo?” Me: Tina wo how? my eyes first blur 🙆‍♀️ My mum: “Tina? Tina la ti bó?” 💀 That was when I knew it was over You’re probably wondering how I even got here… Let me take you back to how I met Ayuba 🫩 After secondary school, my mum enrolled me in a computer school. She monitored me like CCTV, by 6pm I must be home. If I’m late, she’ll question my boss. Mavis Beacon game was my distraction then 😔 Ayuba was a phone engineer along my route. One day my Nokia Asa spoilt so I took it to him. He fixed it and said he liked me. Me? Okay na 😭 We became friends… exchanged Facebook usernames and started confusion love , “good morning pweety” 2go chat format type Fast forward to 2013, I gained admission. I felt I was already a big girl so i told my mum I had a “male friend” 💀 She said she wanted to meet him. This man came and DENIED me when my mom asked if he was my boyfriend Ayuba: “Rárá ma o! ọ̀rẹ́ lásán ni wa ma o!” My mum said “no problem”… said since I’m ready for my husband’s house, I should forget my admission 💀 We begged, everything settled, and Ayuba became close to my family. Continuation to that day This man now said with full chest: “Mummy, èmi ni ọmọ yín ma…” ( mum is me your child) My mum: Ọmọ wo? Ọmọ tani? Tí mo bá bá yín níta, ilé máa ga ju yín lọ!” (Which child? Whose child? If I meet you outside, the ground will be higher than you!) She opened the gate, ayuba gave him the phone, she collected it and threw it like Mecca stone 💀 Locked the gate. I was now outside… homeless in my Ṣàngó outfit. Oh chim He said I should follow him home. I said kuku kill me finally 🙄 Meanwhile, our church was nearby, but as a Celestial, red and black is a taboo… And me? Under 🔴, outside ⚫ So he suggested if he should go home and bring his agbada, I agreed. I wore Agbádá over my sango outfit and entered church. People were staring at me like they saw a devil 😪 They asked if everything was alright… Me (in my head): nothing is alright 😩

Dear ADC , This Dr. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor , a civil servant in the Ebonyi State Ministry of Aviation is sported at the ADC convention today. Is it proper for a public servant to simultaneously serve as state chairman of the ADC. Under Governor Umahi, she was appointed interim Head of Service, revealing her strong ties to the ruling APC. Anyone doing business with her pretending to be ADC chairman is on slippery ground. She must withdraw or explain how a civil servant under APC cover can chair another party. Her history of using minor parties like Kowa as placeholders for the ruling party will not be tolerated in the ADC. She’s literally working for APC . @EstherUmoh10 @Peter4Nigeria take note #ADCConvention2026

I saw that David Hundeyin’s story and a part of me, due to old fracas, was eager to contribute. But on a second thought, I decided against it because when a man is dying or going down, you don’t continue or join others to beat him; even if that’s the last grace you extend to him for the sake of humanity.

Akin Akinwale, I have no business with the ADC. My solidarity with them stems from my refusal to accept a one-party state in Nigeria. It is simply a matter of personal principle and my ideology as a democrat. That said, it is even a useless committee. I didn’t even see the names of the popular handles who are registered members and have been defending and promoting the party here on the list. Just a bunch of old people who know nothing about media.

My friends, There comes a moment in every life when you must decide what truly matters. Not what is easy, not what is comfortable but what is right. To serve the people is not a part-time commitment. It is not a title, a badge, or a position you wear when it suits you. It is a calling that demands everything you have and everything you are willing to become. Because service means sacrifice It’s time.

Remember when I talked about Khusanov last season and some people, as usual, narrowed it down to 'another kid that isn't good enough for Chelsea'? Look at how much he has grown now at City in one year after an expected slow start. Kids mostly come in and adapt first before showing what they are capable of in the Premier League.

@dawisu @BolajiADC If that's the case, there will be a stay of the execution of the Court of Appeal's order, which means INEC can no longer rely on it.

Dear @BolajiADC, I think by now, the party should have realized that it's not fighting INEC only. We are fighting both INEC and the Judiciary. In that case, our handling of this case should not forget the Judicial ambush by the Court of Appeal. The only reference to the court Order by Sir David Mark in his press conference is that the interpretation given to the order is not correct, and that INEC should have gone to the court of Appeal to determine the status quo ante bellum. This approach does not suffice in my opinion. We need to know whether the party will obey the order, go back to the Federal High Court and apply for accelerated hearing, will it appeal the order to the supreme court, or will it approach the court of appeal itself for the interpretation of status quo ante bellum? Addressing these issues is equally as important as going ahead with the convention. Thank you.

l actually blame the ADC Lawyers for their mismanagement of their brief. There was a clear Path to Victory, attack the motion on notice with all documentary evidence of his resignation and leave it to the court to decide. But they jumped the gun and went on Appeal.
Great Oracle Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary.@AbdulMahmud01

ADC: What's to be done 1. Apply for the accelerated hearing of Nafiu Bala's suit at the High Court. Push for the conclusion of the suit within 2 weeks; 2. It's a suit about the defence of the independence of political parties and democracy, so mobilise lawyers

APC saw the efforts of the 3 other candidates in the last election and won't take chances this time especially if they are able to work together and use the temporary hardship occasioned by the economic reforms and the impatience of Nigerians as a detracting weapon...
