We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.

reminder that teenagers are shouted at by adults in parks because it's a "kids" space, that youth clubs are mostly bible studies, that the youth isn't allowed to hang out in groups & going out to get food or something is expensive

What are children actually supposed to do?
Like they have nowhere to go but home, everywhere costs too much money and they have no experience socially navigating without social media.
This just isolates abused, bullied and minority children.

This happened in Australia. 61% of Australian kids found ways around the ban. It has nothing to do with protecting children. After failing to push digital ID through the front door, Labour is now trying to force it through the back door under the guise of protecting children.
