Hot take but also a suggestion for @TimSweeneyEpic @Fortnite: If you’re so insistent on making collabs a bigger part of Fortnite and wanna “pay the bills” try collabing with things from other countries as well not just US/English based things and animes. There’s plenty of things you can do.

@JamBudds_ Played for 2 hours last night and I intent on keeping that up. Doom posting and boycotting the core game modes is not the answer. Stop playing UEFN maps and support Epic by playing BR modes.

@VampNyne I’ll be honest. If Fortnite is so dead set on becoming a metaverse platform, more shooter modes is the last thing we need. We need racing, fighting, beat em up, sports and platform games. They need to implement mechanics to support all of these game types.

Boycotting UEFN maps accomplishes two things: - it shows Tim Sweeney we don’t care about his metaverse - it ensures every penny made goes to actual Epic employees - actually it would also clean up the lobby screen which looks like a mess now and probably would speed up the lobby

NGL getting kinda sick of the FN Twitter community with all these performative monkeys pretending to know what's best for Epic. The ONLY legitimate thing you SHOULD do is boycott UEFN maps. But no one is going to do that, ESPECIALLY the content creators with a UEFN studio.

These layoffs should not have happened. Tim Sweeney should’ve pulled the plug on UEFN payouts after the first round of layoffs clearly showed this shit wasn’t going anywhere viable. Question is how stubborn he actually is and if he’s going all in or sees the light in time.

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.

@Shadowerz2006 Keep buying, keep playing “by Epic” game modes. Just stop playing UEFN maps. This way all money goes to Epic, who then can invest it in useful things instead of making a bunch of freeloaders money.

I am still having trouble processing everything that happened yesterday. It is unbelievable, and yet this is unfortunately the reality we live in. With so many key people laid off from Epic yesterday, it’s hard to envision a bright future for this game at all. I also just don’t know how to move forward right now with this game. I don’t want to support it at all. I have no motivation to play at all. And it’s just so sad because it was said this was going to be one of the greatest seasons of all time, story looked incredibly promising and everything had to fall apart yesterday because Tim Sweeney doesn’t know how to manage his money. We aren’t even a week into this season. On one side I do want to support all the work that was put into this season by the hard working employees by playing, but on the other side I just can’t bring myself to it. It feels very wrong. Especially knowing that a lot of those employees who worked on this season were laid off. I don’t even know how to move forward content wise either. For now I think I’m putting all my planned content on hold while I just figure out what to do next. However, I think I will be making a video about all of this. What Tim has done to this game for the past four years is awful and this entire situation needs to be given more attention. These are just all my thoughts now, they can change later but that’s kind of it. Whoever read this far, I hope you have a great rest of your day. ❤️

Epic makes 100 billion. 60 billion to Epic, 40 billion to UEFN. UEFN makes them NO MONEY. Item shop makes them money. Item shop paid salaries of Epic employees, but now also pays UEFN freelancers. 40% less money for Epic employees, means less Epic employees.

@KiriBuilds No matter how great that Vampire Survivors rip-off is, it doesn't deserve to earn more money than the $5 original does. There hasn't been a single UEFN "game" that did something another game outside of UEFN didn't do better and cheaper. Again, EPIC needs to provide the tools.

@KiriBuilds This is not YOUR fault, it's EPIC's fault. UEFN is not an engine for game development. It's a map maker with some scripting that makes it possible to do some janky stuff that other, non-UEFN games already do, most of them better.

@RichImpulse I enjoyed RR so much, even with the warts and growing pains. When they gave up and put it on life support with just rotating track lists, and people stopped playing leaving me vs. Unreal players or bots, I gave up too. Needed more time in the oven and input from RL players tbh.
