A so-called democratic govt that refuses to listen to the Will of the people & just goes ahead & does what it likes, while creating legislations to benefit itself, is not a properly functioning democratic govt, it's a de facto dictatorship that masquerades as a democratic govt.⚠️

Evidence from polls, protests, government actions, & public discourse indicates that many Irish people are experiencing immigration fatigue, that rapid inflows, especially of asylum seekers, have strained housing, services, & social cohesion beyond sustainable levels.

🇮🇪🚨 We were saying for years that immigration was the main factor driving homelessness in Ireland. The same politicians who are now gaslighting on it spent years calling us "far-right" & "racist" for saying this, and are now grudgingly forced to admit it.

Primary schools are built for education not for child minding. Thinking an 8 year old should be educated from 8.30 to 6.00 is a bizzare take.

Having worked in media for over 30 years, I’ve seen the shift myself. There were always lines, but in the last decade the change has been dramatic. The space for robust, honest debate feels narrower than ever. Those with nothing to lose, or those positioned on what’s presented as “the right side” of an argument, can speak freely. But when your livelihood depends on public perception, the stakes are very different. One wrong sentence, one unpopular opinion, and everything you’ve built can be on the line. Róisín Murphy is speaking for a lot of people, not just in media, but across the arts and beyond, who feel they’ve lost their voice, not because they have nothing to say, but because the risk of saying it has become too high.
