🔴 Liverpool Humiliated by Man City: Rot Now Impossible to Ignore
#MCFC 4-0 #LFC
Liverpool were 4-0 down to Man City on 60 minutes, but the result felt sealed the moment Van Dijk gave away the penalty and Haaland put City ahead. For 30 minutes, there was energy, tempo, and some control. Then one setback, and everything collapsed. No reaction, no leadership, just acceptance.
This has been coming for months. Since November, the signs have been there and ignored by the powers that be. What we are seeing now is what happens when a problem is left to fester. Like mould in a house, it starts small, barely noticeable, then spreads behind the walls until one day it is everywhere and impossible to ignore. That is Liverpool right now.
This isn't about tactics anymore. It's about mentality and culture. This team does not fight when things go wrong.
Curtis Jones at least tried to drag something out of it, carrying the ball, pushing forward, showing some intent. The fact that he stood out says everything about the rest.
Salah, missing the penalty, summed it up. A great player, but this version looks like a shadow, weighed down by everything around him.
By 60 minutes, City had declared. Liverpool still offered nothing. Reds leaving early wasn't anger; it was resignation.
The plus side, if you can call it that, is they can now focus on the race for a Europa League place. Because after this and the annihilation PSG likely serve up next, there will be no trophies left to play for.
This team looks unfit, poorly coached, and mentally fragile. Unless something drastic changes, this decline will only accelerate.
The Gerrard song being sung by the travelling Kop had all the hallmarks of the Dalglish chant going round in the Hodgson era.
From the coaches to the players to the owners and management, it's cowards everywhere.

And THIS man is your patriot?
Trump insults our country
Our capital
Our troops
Tariffs us
Makes all of our lives more expensive
…and this little weasel suggests we “turn the other cheek”?
Sky News@SkyNews
In an interview with Sky's @AliFortescue, Nigel Farage reiterated his longstanding support for America's war with Iran, criticised the current state of the Royal Navy, and suggested Britain should “turn the other cheek” in response to an insult from Donald Trump.

@philbin85 We’ve had this conversation already mate. He’s got world class players performing like relegation fodder.

Might be worth nailing Trump to a cross for the weekend, see what happens by Monday…
Aaron Rupar@atrupar
Paula White compares Trump to Jesus during event with faith leaders: "You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. Because of His resurrection, you rose up."

So..
We try (and sometimes fail) to hold it together as we unpack the chaos:
- Those Palestinian death penalty celebrations
- The Gaza blueprint now rolled out for Lebanon
- Our pathetically weak and craven politicians
…and the sense that ordinary people are shouting into a void

The Tories’ ludicrous position on energy was exposed on #bbcqt.
Harriet Baldwin argued drilling more oil and gas in the North Sea improves “energy security”.
Fiona Bruce challenged her:
“If North Sea gas is sold on the international market, how does drilling more make the UK more secure?”
Baldwin had no answer … bc there isn’t one.
The Tories sold off our oil and gas instead of managing it like Norway.
Then Brexit took the UK out of the European Union Internal Energy Market and doubled down on gas priced on global markets.
Now they claim drilling more gas we don’t control will make us secure.
❌ It won’t.

Honest question: will you nationalise those reserves like Norway did? If so, I could be persuaded to back the policy.
Robert Jenrick@RobertJenrick
It is economic lunacy to ignore our rich energy reserves. Reform will unapologetically drill in the North Sea for oil and gas. We’ll get bills down and bring back good jobs.

HOW IS THIS NORMAL?
Trump on the girls’ school in Minab:
“The Tomahawk missile that destroyed it could have been anyone’s. A Tomahawk is very generic.”
Facts:
Tomahawk missiles are manufactured by RTX in Phoenix, Arizona.
The US sells them to exactly four countries: the UK, Australia, Japan, and the Netherlands.
None of them are at war with Iran.
The White House already confirmed behind closed doors to Congress that the US targeted the area.
CNN confirmed US responsibility.
165 girls aged 7-12 are dead.
And the President of the United States just told the American people a Tomahawk missile is “very generic.”
This is not a mistake. This is not confusion.
This is a lie. On camera. About dead children.

@philbin85 Thats how hes got us playing though mate. No risk, slow ineffective football. No urgency at all until we went one down. His under use of Rio shows his arrogance.
