Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) crews are on scene of a 2.5 acre grass fire in the 400 block of Willox Ln. The fire has been knocked down and crews will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots. More information to come.

PFA is responding to a fire in the backyard of a home in the 700 block of Hinsdale Dr. The fire is believed to be in a mulch pile and no structures are at risk. Smoke may be visible.

FIRE UPDATE: Cause of the Sterry Fire Determined to be Downed Power Lines The cause of the fire, which burned an acre north of Fort Collins last Thursday, has been determined to be downed power lines as a result of a tree falling through overhead lines. More details on Facebook.

SMOKE VISIBLE Smoke can be seen and smelled throughout much of the south, east, and central #FortCollins area this morning. The smoke is from #fires in #Nebraska and is expected to dissipate by late morning as the temperature rises. Please do not call 911 to report the #smoke.

PFA units are responding to two small fires in the 4900 block of Hilltop Dr. west of Inlet Bay. No structures are threatened at this time and some units were released after the initial review of the fire. More information to come.

Media Staging: The PFA public information officer will be in the parking lot to the west of the highway at the corner of Sterry Ln. and N. 287 from 1:25 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. for on camera interviews if in the area.

Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office are responding to a second alarm wildfire in the 400 block of N. Highway 287. Smoke is visible in the area and limiting visibility on the highway. Please find alternative routes if heading north out of Fort Collins.

The crew donned the proper protective gear, including breathing apparatus, entered the building and turned off the source. The building was ventilated and New Belgium staff is working to fix the issue. No one needed medical assessment and no injuries were reported.

The Engine 10 and Hazmat Crews are at New Belgium at 500 Linden St. after helping mitigate an ammonia leak at the facility. Their alarms notified employees and the entire facility was evacuated out of caution.

Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary search of the home. No one was inside at the time. One deceased cat has been found underneath and no other injuries have been reported.

Crews saw flames coming through the roof when they arrived. They assessed the scene while other firefighters began an attack on the flames. Multiple hoses were used since the fire was active underneath, inside, and on the roof of the home.

Firefighters extinguished a fire in mobile home in the 400 block of N. Timberline Rd. Several crews remain on scene. More information to come.

Firefighters ventilated the building and allowed people back inside. There are no injuries reported and no one was displaced by the fire. A PFA fire investigator is on scene and an investigation is in progress.

Firefighters located the source of the fire in a garden level unit. The fire was small and contained to a table but it created enough smoke to fill the hallways of all three levels.

PFA evacuated 20 units in an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Robertson St. (at the intersection of Elizabeth St. and Lemay Ave.) in Fort Collins today. Firefighters were dispatched at 10:15 a.m. after multiple callers and residents reported smoke throughout the building.

Firefighters are ventilating offices on the second floor and people are being allowed back inside. The haze was caused by an issue with an HVAC unit on the roof of the building. There was no active fire. Crews are beginning to leave the scene.

Poudre Fire Authority crews are investigating haze/smoke on the second and third floors of a commercial building in the 3500 block of John F Kennedy Parkway. Around two dozen people were evacuated from the building. More info to come.
