She said she was “impressed by his professionalism” during his audition, considering his age. AKA she pulled the bullshit “you’re so mature for your age” card and began dating him once the movie was finished. From the start, there has been a clear power imbalance. At 18, he became a stepfather to her two kids, with one of them only being 6 years younger than him when he started dating their mother. He was 20 when they had their first child, and she was 43. She is all he knows. He was 18 and was starting out in acting, while she was an established director. If the genders were reversed, there would be much more backlash and media coverage of their relationship. She preyed on a barely legal teen. People make jokes online, but she 100% groomed him, and he is a victim who probably doesn't even realize it. It's even more tragic when children are brought into the mix. If he left her now, it would affect their four children, who aren't aware of what their mom did and why it was wrong. He's been with her for the majority of his life now. At this point, I don't think he'll ever choose to leave, but I hope he at least knows that what happened to him was not normal or okay. I also hope he will protect his children so that they are not taken advantage of like he was.
