The reason I am on this US Grant kick is that I spent many days last week in the back room of a fabled Washington DC restaurant, eating crab cakes and drinking iced tea with my gorgeous wife while looking up from my barstool at this painting. It just got to me after a while.

This is correct. Golden is being either intentionally misleading, or he's misinformed. The NCAA has OK'd guys who played:
1) In the same league as Bediako, making more money than Bediako made (Louisville); and
2) In the top level of European basketball (both EuroLeague and the top flight Spanish league -- Baylor).
This inconsistency is why Bediako has a case.

Most people would concede this. However, it goes back to Nnaji - the 21 year old: •played at the peak level of Euro ball •played more GL games than Bediako •made more money than Bediako •was drafted! •was traded! yet, granted 4 years of eligibility It’s not hard to see.

As we await a response from judge Jim Roberts to the NCAA requesting he recuse from the Charles Bediako case, a few notes:
- Roberts is the only Tuscaloosa circuit judge publicly listed as a donor to Alabama athletics
- Roberts is the only Tuscaloosa circuit judge who did not attend Alabama in some capacity (USF undergrad, Samford law)

@makennahsdad When I worked for alumni association traveling to chapter meetings people would always say “the head of football practice officiating?” And then he’d have them on the floor laughing — “our ball!” He was so popular on the circut. RIP

We lost a true Alabama legend today.Eddie Conyers was a remarkable man who was a part of this program from Coach Bryant’s first years until this season.I will always cherish the conversations we had at practice for the past 19 seasons.He loved Alabama and he loved our players.
