If @SenWarren shared her $67M and lived on the $285K (itself a great salary) every public school teacher in her state could receive a $900 bonus and she would still make more than 3x the average salary of those teachers. #YouGoFirstSenator

Big news last night on CNN! I learned that for 1.6 billion years, algae was completely undefeated in warm stagnant pools...until Obama personally cured it with "science." You really do learn something new every day. 🤣

Today, on my final day as Director of National Intelligence, I’m releasing never-before-seen communications and documents exposing how Dr. Fauci provided millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, worked with politicized elements within the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions and hide the virus’ lab-leak origins, and lied to Congress while under oath in 2024. It’s time you know the truth. odni.gov/index.php/news…

Interesting take:
The Rational Animal 🤔@theobjectivist

Ro Khanna is the most dangerous Democrat in the field, and almost no one on the right is taking him seriously yet. That is a mistake. Here is why he is the contender to watch. The progressive lane is wide open, and Khanna is methodically occupying it. If AOC runs for Senate instead, he inherits it outright. He has spent the past year doing the unglamorous work: endorsing allies city by city, touring Rust Belt steel mills, and showing up in South Carolina while others posture from cable studios. His weapon is presentation. Unlike the open socialists, Khanna brands himself a "progressive capitalist" with a "new economic patriotism." It is the same collectivism underneath, a wealth tax, healthcare and housing reframed as rights, government credited as the engine of prosperity, but packaged in the language of growth and opportunity. That disguise is what makes him formidable. He sells statism to people who think they are rejecting it. He is also shrewd about his rivals. Watch how he went after Gavin Newsom, his biggest obstacle, not with an ideological attack but by citing constituent complaints of "fraud, waste and abuse in Sacramento," vowing hearings and demanding a full independent audit. He wounds the frontrunner while wearing the robe of the reformer. That is the move of a man who understands how to knife a competitor and look principled doing it. And he is clean. No personal scandal. The Epstein files fight handed him a real populist credential and the look of a man who takes on power. He is articulate, debates directly, and does not come across as a fraud the way Newsom does. But know what you face. His economics rest on the fixed-pie fallacy, that one man's wealth is another's loss. They ignore Mises entirely: a wealth tax liquidates the very capital that funds the jobs he promises. He mistakes central-bank inflation and cronyism for failures of capitalism, then prescribes more of the disease. Beat him not with mockery but by tracing the rigged game to intervention, not freedom. Underestimate him, and you hand the presidency to the most persuasive collectivist of this generation.

@puj_rit @Rothmus The harsh reality is that even if you made those non-teaching positions into teachers, there aren’t enough teachers to fill them. Especially in rural areas.

Since 1970, public school student enrollment grew just 8%. Total education staff exploded 84% with non-teaching staff up 138% (!!!!!) The massive growth in education spending was swallowed by bureaucracy. Not more kids, not better classrooms.

Christopher Hitchens: ”In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli, shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million European and American slaves taken between 1750 and 1815. Jefferson and Adams went to their ambassador in London and said, why do you do this to us? The United States has never had a quarrel with the Muslim world of any kind. We weren't in the crusades. We weren't at war with Spain. Why do you do this to our people and our ships? Why do you plunder and enslave our people? The ambassador said very plainly, Mr. Abdul Rahman said, because the Quran gives us permission to do so, because you are infidels, and that's our answer. Jefferson said, well, in that case, I will send a navy which will crush your state, which he did. Islamic fundamentalism is not created by American democracy. It's a lie to say so. It's a masochistic lie, and it excuses those who are the real criminals, and blames us for the attacks made upon us.”

This is INSANE. Meet the acting chief of the @AnnapolisPD - who needs to be the FORMER acting chief. Earlier this week, her department put up a "suspected ICE activity alert" - because two ICE agents who were being stalked and harassed pulled into the police department for safety. Instead of providing any kind of activity or protection... THEY ALERTED THE COMMUNITY ABOUT "ICE" ACTIVITY". We've been FLOODED with officers from the agency reaching out to express their total FURY - all begging us to let the world know that it's their EXTREMELY liberal acting chief who is desperately trying to keep the job. She apparently believes that by pandering to the leftist leaders in the city, she'll get to retain power. And she's not afraid to put the lives of #lawenforcement on the line while on that power trip. Go back to knitting, "Chief". You're not a police officer. You're a political hack who wormed her way into a uniform. You're a traitor to the badge and the country and the only reason you're in this position is because of bullshit DEI policies. What a disgrace. Make her famous. @DAGToddBlanche @SecMullinDHS @RealTomHoman @VP @POTUS @nicksortor @TheOfficerTatum @libsoftiktok @DC_Draino

Joe Hunter has a point. The lawn is sacred

Dear Joe, I wish I could sit down with you face to face and explain why so many of us were offended by the UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House. For me, it had nothing to do with the UFC or who showed up for the fights. The brand you and Dana have built is a bona fide American success story. More power to you. As for the fighters, in my book, anyone brave enough to put it all on the line in the arena is remarkable to witness. Their dedication and discipline inspire me. I don’t understand anyone who can’t admire that. And as for the people who attended, I, for one, love Shane Gillis. I think he’s hilarious and brilliant. It was a show. A once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. I can’t blame anyone for wanting to witness it firsthand. My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred. And unlike many of the great powers that came before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to hold power at the moment. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any President. It belongs to the people. To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for. This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This “celebration” could have happened in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had an issue with it. But that was obviously Donald Trump’s whole point. By holding the event on the South Lawn, what he was saying to the rest of us is: “This is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. I’ll build a colosseum and have the gladiators fight under my gaze. I’ll tear down the East Wing. I’ll pave over the Rose Garden. I’ll cover everything in gold and marble. I’ll erase the names of all the men who came before me.” The fights were an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy. The White House is not Buckingham Palace. It is not the Palace of Versailles. It is not the Forbidden City of Beijing. It does not belong to an emperor, or a king, or a commissar. The White House belongs to us. All of us. The person who sits behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker. The President is our servant. Not our Caesar. Respectfully, Hunter P.S. Cage match between me and Don Jr.? Your call on the venue. Anywhere but the South Lawn.
