@StretfordPost In terms of punishment, it’s more about complaining and making sure he doesn’t referee or VAR one of our games again for a long while. That’s our aim here. And his like Liverpool, secure better decisions from in future. We’ve been quiet long enough. Finally we are speaking.

I don’t care what the referees’ association says none of it gives those two points back, does it? Apologies mean nothing when the damage is already done. And this isn’t some one-off mistake you can brush under the carpet it keeps happening, and far too often to United. At some point, it stops being “human error” and starts looking like a system that simply isn’t fit for purpose. If a referee makes a decisive mistake that directly costs a team points, there has to be real accountability. Not quiet internal reviews, not vague statements actual consequences. Suspend them. Review their performances properly. And most importantly, introduce retrospective action where the team that was clearly wronged is compensated. Because right now, what’s the deterrent? What actually changes? English refereeing has a serious credibility issue. It operates like a closed circle, protected from scrutiny, where mistakes are acknowledged but never truly punished. Until that changes until there’s transparency and real accountability these “apologies” will keep coming, and nothing else will.

@TridgeTV If any of our clubs in Europe get a draw 5th is good enough for Cl. If Villa win the Europa we get 6th. I think we’re almost there.

Shame we didn’t win on Friday we’d have been in such a great spot. But, we still put another point between us and Liverpool and Chelsea. As long as we don’t lose those H2H games, we got a good shot at CL.

@Altgthr Spot on. It’s also about media pressure. It’s not just what went before, it’s about what’s coming. Refs and VAR know that Utd decisions are far more under the spotlight and will be discussed for a week after. Thats why we didn’t get a 2nd pen and why VAR wld not cancel the goal

United v Bournemouth. Here is the flaw in the system. Referees are frightened to make calls and think (as was the case last night) that they can defer to VAR. The problem is that the rules state VAR will only overturn a decision if it is clearly wrong. The penalty decisions couldn’t be overturned because pushing can be deemed subjective. It’s about the force used. Had the referee given the Amad one then it wouldn’t have been overturned, but he could use VAR as a way out. Obviously when you see the foul in each box they are as good as the same (red card aside) and so if one is given then so should the other. I suspect the referee may get away with his decisions when the PGMOL reviews them because of the subjective nature of the decision, but if anything all this does is point to the flaws in the rules. There is an over-reliance on individual interpretation and an overly restrictive VAR remit that prioritises minimal intervention over equitable application of the rules.

@bensmithppc That Liverpool loss was handy. Hopefully Chelsea get at worse a draw and we’re def well fixed.

Who's the next manager to ruin?
I think we're in a really good place now. Liverpool, Chelsea and Villa are all not consistent enough to actually string together results to get enough points. We're not that consistent either, but we have a buffer.

@RussGeorge8 @bensmithppc I’ve been saying it for ages. That official complaint is long overdue. It’s part bias & part them being terrified of the controversy they could create by giving us decisions. 2 pens to Utd away, no chance. Disallowing a home goal to give us a pen, never. @PGMOL_FA are pointless.

@bensmithppc Still playing better than those sides. I still think we were unlucky not to get the second penalty which would have killed the game. Our home form has been terrific since Carrick arrived

@AdamJoseph It goes back to the first game of the season couple back when Onana didn’t get sent off or a pen for Wolves for punching the player. The amount of terrible decisions we had that season was incredible an it’s just continued. MDL pen for 50/50, Cas reds, spurs handball, on & on.

Here's a list of decisions this season alone that should be included as evidence in any complaint: - Nathan Collins pulled back Bryan Mbeumo in the box, DOGSO incident. Only a yellow card + penalty instead of a red. VAR (Andy Madley) did not intervene. Unanimous KMI Panel error, should have been a red. Howard Webb admitted it. - Amad brought down in the box by a back-leg challenge from Maxim De Cuyper. Anthony Taylor waved play on, VAR upheld "no penalty." Clear foul in many people's view, no review despite contact. - Emmanuel Agbadou handball in the box. VAR (Stuart Attwell) did not send Michael Salisbury to the monitor. Clear penalty per rules, inconsistent with a similar situation later in game (& was given). Official KMI error. - Lisandro Martínez's goal disallowed for minimal contact/foul on Kyle Walker vs Burnley. Stuart Attwell was referee, Craig Pawson was VAR. KMI Panel ruled it a clear error (no foul), PGMOL reportedly apologised. - Patrick Dorgu was on the ground near the touchline, Walker deliberately stamped on the back of Dorgu's leg, with no attempt to play the ball. Attwell gave nothing & VAR did not intervene. Ex-PGMOL chief said Walker should be charged & suspended. - On Opening Day Matheus Cunha was denied a penalty after a foul by William Saliba by Simon Hooper. Fans & media argued it was a stonewall penalty, no VAR intervention by Paul Tierney. - Aaron Wan-Bissaka's bad tackle not given a second yellow that should have been a straight forward decision & red card. Andrew Kitchen did nothing. - A pile of evidence from Stuart Attwell's pathetically inept display vs Bournemouth. The no penalty for Amad & everything it caused in its aftermath. Manchester United should speak out & stand up for themselves more, because nobody else will. Whenever a controversial decision is made, the other side of it is always discussed by either the media or rivals.

Manchester United are to make a formal complaint to the head of referees at PGMO, claiming they should have been awarded a second penalty in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth last night 🚨

@IamOwad @mufcytp @IliyaBenoni @Manutd_addicts Had the ball gone out for a throw in they’d have given it. The fact they’d have to cancel a home goal & award us the pen meant it was never going to happen. Because @PGMOL_FA care more about the media reaction than actually getting the decisions right. They’re not fit for purpose

@UtdForever7 Doubt about how he went down says everything wrong about referees. How about looking at the physical contact. Half the time they just look at the hands and give the pen now suddenly they’re looking at the way they went down. Unbelievable.

🚨🗣️ Mike Dean: “They will complain but they didn't complain when Dalot wasn't sent off in the Manchester derby. “I think the two incidents are completely different. Maguire is a dead cert, it's a simple decision. It's easy - it's a sending-off all day. “The first one could have been a penalty but there was doubt about how he went down - that's why he hasn't given it. I could see why he didn't give it. And I can see why it's referee's call. “I understand they have made a complaint but you have to backtrack as well because they have had a few calls [in their favour] this year that have gone on referee's call.” #MUFC [Soccer Saturday]

@FrankEra_ The definition they gave for why Maguires was a pen was literally the definition of the Amad one. It’s so ridiculous!

🚨Stuart Attwell should NEVER referee a Manchester United game again. He’s already cost us 4 points this season: •Jan 7 vs Burnley — the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel ruled he shouldn’t have disallowed Lisandro Martinez’s goal. •Last night — he ignores a clear penalty on Amad, then minutes later gives almost the same call against Maguire, handing him a RED. Please introduce AI for VAR Absolute joke. #MUFC
