@QuantaLab researchers Luis Barbosa, Mikhail Vasilevsky and @jfrossier gave lectures in the @UTPortugal anual conference #Quantum Master class, last Sept 20, discussing the near term potential of quantum computers.

We carry out actual quantum computations on the IBM machines to successfully carry out the topological characterization of the SSH model. It is great fun to combine our passion for topological phases of matter with the new "toys", the amazing @IBM quantum computers.

Our first preprint using @IBMResearch #quantum computers is now in the arXiv: arxiv.org/abs/1909.09415 We propose Berry phase estimation in gate based adiabatic quantum simulation and we apply for topological classification of the SSH and the dimerized Heisenberg model.

@quantalab_ researchers have modelled how graphene plasmons couple to magnons at the surface of an antiferromagnet . They have found a new type of collective mode, hybrid plasmon-magnon polaritons. Their work has been published in 2DMaterials bit.ly/2F5jkYe
