@rage14539 Go watch the draft coverage and they'll talk about how the Spurs moved up. It's considered moving up anytime a team gets a better draft position than their record would have indicated. If the lottery odds were never flattened the Spurs would still stink.

@mattgzman The way they handled the clippers and the blazers, either of them would be fine. But probably the clippers is the preferred opponent, they lack the wing depth of portland or the high variance shooting of phx.

I do find it interesting that Harper to San Antonio is the example being used, and not Flagg to Dallas. The Mavs had a 1.8% chance of that happening after making the most shocking trade in NBA history. I agree that change is needed, but let's not hang it all on the Spurs.

@BradleyUre @DevonBirdsong What a casual take, lol. Spurs in 23 were tied with houston and pistons for the first pick odds wise, with 3 teams having 14% chance. 24 they were the 5th worse record and they move 1 spot and pick number 4. In 25 they had a 30% chance of picking in the top 4.

@DevonBirdsong Spurs moving up 3 years in a row was 10X less likely than the Mavs moving up to get Flagg. They are the more extreme example so they get used more. Both are examples of why flattened lottery odds made tanking worse and not better.
