With all 555 MPs, (Five Hundred Fifty Five minds) united in passing a law that would effectively strip a citizen of their status the moment they leave the country, perhaps on top of Fountain of Honor, we should add the Fountain of Wisdom when addressing President Museveni because I don't see him letting such a bill become law..... So what does that mean in practice? Does a Ugandan in the diaspora suddenly become a citizen of nowhere? Would they now need a visa to return home, or sorry, to enter a country that no longer recognizes them as its own? And how would policies like the 15% withholding tax on foreign income from Ugandans abroad even hold up, if our basama are reclassified as foreigners?
