@junrann1 Many saints have struggled with scrupulosity. That doesn't mean it's a good thing, but what it really means is the devil is trying to bring you down. It doesn't necessarily mean you're further away from the Lord than you were, more like the devil is more desperate now.

when i was a normie i was very happy then online catholicism gave me scrupulosity and i believed the novus ordo was a poison to your soul so i changed my beliefs and the way i dressed completely to be more trad or whatever and now im in the worst place spiritually ive ever been

if the pope doesn’t proclaim that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, then we have no pope & Christ’s promise that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church is false, which means that He didn’t know what He was talking abt, which means He was not God, which means that we might as well be like the pagans who practice infanticide & euthanasia, but why do we have a gut-reaction against such practices?

@Liz_Wheeler @dlongenecker1 Those first two sentences are simply not true. Therefore your conclusions are false. Equitable does not simply mean forced equal outcomes, and neither does it mean an economic system that "forces" it. It could instead be fostered, more like.

He said “equitable distribution of wealth” which means equal outcome. Which only happens via an economic system that forces it. I don’t say this because I want to criticize, I try to give the successor of St. Peter every benefit of the doubt, but I think it would be foolish to convince ourselves that a phrase like “equitable distribution of wealth” doesn’t involve govt policies that are counter to private property, free will, charity, generosity, and instead codify envy and theft.

Pope Leo has seemed to insinuate Christians should support socialism. But his pastoral statements don't match official Church teaching on socialism. Let's review. This is what he posted last week: "Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty." We should give the Pope the benefit of the doubt in the sense that we should look for what good he could mean with his words—you look for what pastoral wisdom he could offer. But I believe there is no misunderstanding the Pope here, when he talks about an equitable distribution of wealth. This does create a little bit of a sticky situation for Catholics who want to be respectful and deferential to the successor of Saint Peter. At the same time, we recognize that the Catechism of the Catholic Church has explicitly condemned socialism: "The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with 'communism' or 'socialism.'"  CCC, 2425

@ContraMolinism @c0ntrabane @uzi5_55 You likely know the way. Lots of prayers, frequent confessions, occasional fasting. Lent helped also in that regard. Just don't ever give up. That's how the devil gets you. Build a solid routine and God will gradually and slowly transform your heart.

But since I started making a concerted effort a couple years ago, I'm still sinning but I also can tell it's not as often as it used to be and I feel more equipped to combat it, thanks to God.

I am grateful to Pope Leo for saying this. While the media narrative constantly gins up conflict–and yes, real disagreements have happened and will happen–the reality is often much more complicated. Pope Leo preaches the gospel, as he should, and that will inevitably mean he offers his opinions on the moral issues of the day. The President–and the entire administration–work to apply those moral principles in a messy world. He will be in our prayers, and I hope that we'll be in his.
