@amybethreyes @mandimritchie @pediadatrician So their are a fair amount of students in those programs who end up dropping out or failing a year of medical school. Guaranteed acceptance has a lot of problems.

@mandimritchie @pediadatrician @responsiblekare Just because a pathway for interested nurses exists wouldn’t necessarily mean that others with different paths would be left out. There’s already several BS/MD and postbacc programs w/ guaranteed admission.

@hanin_she First generation in this context refers to physicians who are the first in their families to attend med school because having parents or close relatives in medicine connotes easier school admission and in practice. Not necessarily but your chances and support system are better.

@pediadatrician I am a RN to MD as well and I disagree. There should not be garunteed admissions for anyone.
