Roush comes up well short even with like 7-8 targets. Also got hurt in the 3rd qtr and maybe played 1 snap after that. Can't be mad at the read with the volume he had, just tough variance. CFB week 1 will be better.

Posted on Friday in Dubclub. Analysis ⬇️ Sam Roush is entering his senior year at Stanford, the TE produced 334 rec yards on 52 targets across 11 games played in 2024. He averaged of 30.36 rec yards per game, so this line looks to be set correctly on the surface right? No, because Stanford lost Elic Ayomanor to the NFL who produced 62 and 63 receptions in the last 2 years for a combined 1,844 rec yards and was the clear focal point of their passing attack. While Elic is a WR and Roush is the TE, it just opens up alot of receiving production to go around. I don't believe any Stanford WR will be able to come close to replicating Ayomamor's numbers, so Roush should be relied upon more. The Cardinal got CJ Williams to come over from Wisconsin, but he only recorded 248 rec yards in 12 games and is unproven. Another key here is that Roush still averaged right at this prop number last season despite playing with running QB's. Ashton Daniels was their main QB with Lamson and Elijah Brown mixing in at times throughout the year. Combined, Stanford QB's barely completed 60% of their passes and Daniels led the team in rushing as the QB. A running signal caller is not a friend of the TE as they are looking to escape often rather than dump down to hr safety blanket over the middle or in the flat. This season, Stanford will be starting Gulbranson at QB, transfer from Oregon State. He is a basically just a pocket QB and in his 3 full starts last year, the Oregon State TE went for 37, 92, and 54 rec yards. This is great to see for Roush who should be more of a focal point with Ayomanor gone and now a pocket QB throwing the ball. Frank Reich former NFL coach will bring a pro style offense to Stanford which will feature 2 TE sets which is good for Roush to be on the field a ton. He also mentioned the potential of featuring Roush as a focal point of this passing attack. Not concerned about a mediocre Hawaii defense here either. They ranked 69th of 134 teams in pass defense despite a weak schedule last year. Widely available on DFS Sites and sportsbooks. Best line currently 31.5 -110 on Hard Rock, also on Dabble and Fliff. 32.5 on Prizepicks, 33.5 on UD, slight bumps playable.
