I headcanon that Rhaena doesn’t like wearing revealing clothes or showing skin, and that she likes shawls, cloaks, long sleeves and high necklines. Not for any purity culture kind of reason (obviously) but rather she doesn’t like people she doesn’t trust perceiving her body.

That, she wanted to keep her daughter near her, even if that meant bringing Aerea to a place she was unhappy in. Rhaena had already lost so many loved ones, and she didn’t want to be separated from her child again. Gods everything about Rhaena is so deeply tragic.

Aerea, being separated from her twin. She did it because she knew her daughter would be safe there, and she tried her best to keep Aerea close to her but it’s clear Rhaena struggled to parent Aerea after everything she survived post Aegon’s death. I don’t blame her at all for -

Rhaena would’ve been a great mother if only she had the chance to raise them during peacetime and not have to prioritise survival over their emotional wellbeing and if she hadn’t endured so much trauma maybe she could’ve developed a healthy attachment style.
