3) The creator economy is fundamentally changing the media and publishing industries and as legacy media contracts and consolidates, there are fewer staff jobs. Although women might be better represented than they were 10 years ago, it is extremely hard to get hired right now…

I have a few thoughts on Jacob Savage’s Compact piece: 1) I led a feminist writing organization from 2014 to 2017 that tried to get more women hired in film and TV, because the gender stats were so unbalanced, and it’s crazy to me that anyone would deny this happened.

@rhymeswithbee @MuseZack Hmm. Does each episode resolve a case / patient / thing? In any regard - I never got the impression it was like Mad Men, for eg; and was more of a procedural.

I know some people are mad at this, but it feels more like an overdue swinging of the pendulum away from Prestige Television and its accumulated clichés. It's the Academy saying "Hey, remember television? Wasn't it great? Let's do TV shows again."

@BeezyManzell @MuseZack it’s very cohesive! the first season is a single shift and each episode follows one consecutive hour in the shift until a literal 11th hour twist
