The fact that your mum gave birth to you is enough to live your life in dutifulness to her. Even if she is the worst human you know (iyaadhan billaah). The rights of the parents are absolute, and not even shirk can extinguish them, and only the right of Allah and his Prophet supersedes theirs.
Every day of my life, I ask Allah to make me a saalih to my parents in their lifetime and when they are no more. When I supplicate sometimes, it is what I begin to ask for after the muqaddimaat. I do it before my son too; perhaps one day he and his siblings will start doing the same for me.
If Allah says you should not say as much as "uff" to your parents, imagine the lines you'd cross to even say something displeasing to them and the weight of that in the sight of Allah.
Let us be dutiful to our parents and pray for them always.
Waa laa uzakkee nafsee...
May Allah grant us safety from what displeases him.
Allahumma Rabbighfir lee wa li waalidayy. Allaahummaghfir lahuma warhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheera.
