TL;DR - I'm on my feelings. I was glad to see everyone posting about their holiday feasting and fun, being strong in their faith, and making fun renders of characters in bunny ears celebrating the holiday. I truly enjoyed everyone's holiday fun and uplifting messages. I was trying to avoid this post. I was trying to avoid a lot of things today, actually. Despite being amongst my family and friends RL today, despite diving myself into other people's postings here today, despite wishing people a happy holiday, even despite trying to post some cute waifu renders, my heart just wasn't in it this year. Some of you who followed my -other- account might remember that I lost my mother back in August of 2025. She had been battling cancer for quite some time before finally succumbing to it. It wasn't painless for her. She suffered so much, and when she finally refused treatment, her end was so quick that I didn't even get a chance to tell her goodbye. I thought I was over it. I buried myself in my work and my hobby for months. Christmas was so busy last year that I didn't get get a chance to feel anything. But today... today was supposed to a special day for my family. Coming from a 'child of divorce' background, Easter was always Mom's holiday. (Dad, in turn, wanted ever Memorial Day, so it worked out.) It hit me early this morning. Things just felt... Unfair. Broken. Lost. I didn't know what to do with myself today. I tried putting on a happy face, to play along, to enjoy dinner with my remaining family. The conversations just drowned out. Everything tasted like ash. As I'm winding down for the night, the sorrow has subsided, but I can't help but to cry. I miss my momma. Terribly. Hold fast to your loved ones. Tell those you care about how much you do care. Enjoy every moment you have with them. And, I'm sorry if this post brought you down. I just needed to say something about it, to get it out of my head, before it consumed my sleep. Thank you, love you all, and have a happy Easter.
