@BioRadEducation Satelite colonies that weren't transformed survived due to ampicillin concentration being too low. Arabinose activates the production of GFP so ampicillin is not necessary, just convenient. Heating shocking a sample a second time will increase transformation efficiency.

We are loving @miniPCR BioBits! The students were able to visualize transcription with the green fluorescence today. Hopefully tomorrow we'll see red fluorescence to indicate translation.
