the thing about robby is that he's actually terrible at his job, which is not just to be a doctor but to be a good boss. this would be a fantastic bit of characterization, were it not for the fact that at least half of it is unintentional, as proven by noah wyle's commentary.

@theoceanblooms people will call the residents and students he belittles his "coworkers" as if to make it sound better/more equal, because if they were actually honest about the workplace dynamic he fosters for his subordinates then their points fall apart.

@theoceanblooms this also makes no sense to me because he is an attending at a teaching hospital. part of his job description is to TEACH, so, yes! i will judge the awful ways he does that, actually! fulfilling one part of his job (saving patients, y'know, the minimum) does not negate the rest

@saoirseegot her exit is story driven but we, the writers, don't actually know why she won't be around in s3. it'll probably just be her day off. which we could just not do. as writers. of the show we're writing. okay!!! sure!!! whatever!!!

all their excuses are bullshit so they should just come out and say “the arc we have planned for robby, the only character we care about, doesn’t work if mohan is around - and we don’t want fans ~misinterpreting~ robby like they did this season if she was”
