@DavidJRMissal Hope you are recovered. Sorry just seeing this news. Am I reading the Immigration Branch document correctly... you arrived from Beijing? So, entry into BJ, but denied entry in HK? Gives a whole new meaning to one country, two systems.

I was just refused entry to Hong Kong. After 13 sleepless hours under immigration examination in the middle of the night, I was told that I could not enter the city and was eventually allowed to take a plane to Vietnam, where I planned to go only in a couple of days.

I couldn't agree with this review more. Link and Wu's bio of Liu Xiaobo is the most important China book to have been published in the past year. I have a review forthcoming in @nybooks. It's tragic that it's otherwise been ignored. No NYT, WaPo, WSJ, Guardian... Why?
