A fantastic week at #EGU23 in Vienna. I had the chance to present my research on soil erosion monitoring in the Arctic tundra. It was great to meet old and new colleagues and explore all the exciting research that is going on. Thanks for the support @ScotArcticNet #ArcticScot

I've learnt not to underestimate storage needs of pre-industrial communities: 4 trays from 2 modest size apple trees in a modest harvest yr

Since then @GKodl has started working on this project and we have mapped a whole load more sites in Iceland, installed a series of temp and soil moisture loggers, and this year started working at a site in Finland

It was the first time we had used drones, so a bit of a learning curve, but we ended up with a great dataset and a new perspective on the landscape. The data and findings from that trip went into this paper: doi.org/10.1002/ldr.35…

This time 5 yrs ago me and @biophys_nick were in Iceland mapping erosion spots with #drones We spent 10 days in the north east of Iceland and mapped 12 sites. We were interested in where in the landscape erosion spots occured

A hot afternoon with the @StAndrewsSGSD P4 multispectral drone surveying a peatland in Fife so that we can construct a DEM and vegetation map - helping out @KHRoucoux @PalyAlly and Ian Lawson who are working at this site.

This paper launches our updated and upgraded article format! We’ve implemented many suggestions for improvements, as well as building in further streamlined links between submission materials and our typesetting workflow!

Great to see Conner’s paper published! Conner undertook this work during his research masters @StAndrewsSGSD and @WW_Koster helped me out with the #tephra sample collection during a trip to south Iceland in 2019.
