@Charleykin78733 @Rovers That was a tough one for the ref. You can’t see it’s a save until you get a replay from behind the goal. Could you honestly say you thought that was a save in real time? The red card was dubious but surely you can’t blame the ref for this decision!

This is utter garbage. I believe in net zero. We need to get there. But renewables are not competitive. That’s why they are subsidised. Fossil fuel markets are highly competitive. It shouldn’t be hard to hold these two thoughts at the same time.

The government is the biggest profiteer of everyone when it comes to fuel prices... Fuel duty is 52.95p per litre Petrol is currently about 138 p/l at the pump which includes 20% VAT So that 138 p is made up of VAT 23p Fuel duty 52.95p Total tax 75.95p So for every litre of petrol we're paying 55% in tax The government can shut up about profiteering. If it wants to help with affordability it can cut the ridiculous fuel duty or give VAT relief

@RoyLivingstone6 @afneil Yep, same value, same pay. The important bit is they provide equal value. Also possible that a younger person provides more value; thus deserves higher pay. Although this is less likely.

It’s a very good question. Obviously we should pay young folk with no experience, still learning on the job and gaining qualifications exactly the same, if not more, than someone fully qualified and with years of experience. I dunno why I didn’t think of that earlier.

@IndyAndy1314 @afneil What happens if they do the same job but one employee works harder/has a higher level of skill/experience & creates more value for that business. Surely that employee is worth more?

@afneil Young people aren’t worth less. They’re paid less because the minimum wage system in the UK is age-tiered, not because their work is less valuable. But if two people do the same job, many argue they should receive the same pay.

My post about Gudjohnsen did quite well earlier I thought I'd do another #Rovers post. QPR goal. First image. Baradji is circled in red just as the QPR looked to play inside. If Baradji is positioned in the yellow circle he stops the pass through. The 2nd image shows his position as the ball is being received. Had that been his starting position the pass would have been blocked. Baradji quite often in the first half was caught wandering in no mans land. Obviously there's nothing to say he hasnt been told to be there, but either way it doesn't make sense as he's create a massive space for teams to play into.

@afneil Vote of confidence for large multinational firms, many of them cyclical and move with commodity prices/at the whim of macroeconomic factors. Not much of help to the 5 million British small businesses swamped in additional regulation & increased employer NI costs.

As many suspected and feared we have a Chancellor who knows nothing about stock markets. Or hostages to fortune: when the FTSE 100 plummets, as one day it will, by her logic that would a vote of no confidence in the UK economy.

Consider this, in the last 15 years the UK economy has grown by 25%. But the size of the UK government has grown by 50%. They want you to believe that the reason you feel squeezed financially is because 156 billionaires aren’t paying enough tax. In reality the number of billionaires in the UK is dropping. The ones who are here, pay more tax than ever. Many of them have global businesses and bring money into the country. If you robbed them of every penny they have globally, you couldn’t run the government for 6 months. The UK Government spending has grown at 2X the rate of GDP growth - that is why you feel squeezed.
