@ryansogle I read it. The circumstances of *your* decision don’t change the circumstances of the pga’s currently reality five months before the event (and on the heels of consecutive years of widely panned championship events marred by massive issues). The organization is in utter turmoil.

Piecing together a lot of thoughts on the Rahm situation. We still don't know exactly what is happening. The moment we hear anything definitive and tangible, we'll certainly let you know. But going to dump some context and thoughts here about the situation. Giving Rahm the benefit of the doubt: He's got sooooo many quotes out there shutting down any thought of him joining LIV, even into the future. Sure, June 6 may have (understandably) changed some things, but make no mistake about it, Jon would be going back on his word (many of his words, actually) if he is indeed joining LIV. Just a few months ago, around August 1, 2023, Jon told Golf Sin Etiquetas: "Phil Mickelson respects my decision and I respect his decision. He has told me that I have no reason to go to LIV. And he has told me that several times." And: "I laugh when people rumor me with LIV. I've never liked the format." Sure, there's some wiggle room there if there really is a format change at LIV. But this was a recent quote, and after the June 6 announcement. Going back a bit further, at the 2022 US Open: "Yeah, money is great, but when Kelly and I, this first thing happened, we started talking about it and we're like, 'Would our lifestyle change if we got $400 million?' No. It would not change one bit. Truth be told, I could retire right now and I could live a very happy life and not play golf again. I've never really played the game of golf for monetary reasons. I play for the love of the game, and I want to play against the best in the world." "I have always been interested in history and legacy, and right now the PGA Tour has that. There's a meaning when you win the Memorial Championship. There's a meaning when you win Arnold Palmer's event at Bay Hill. There's a meaning when you win LA, Torrey, some of these historic venues. That to me matters a lot. After winning this past U.S. Open, only me and Tiger have won at Torrey Pines. Making putts on 18 - that's a memory that I'm gonna have forever that not many people can say." "My heart is with the PGA Tour. That's all I can say. It's not my business or my character to judge anybody who thinks otherwise. And for a lot of people, I'm not gonna lie, those next three, four years are worth, basically, their retirement plan. It's a very nice compensation until they retire and sail off into the sunset." February 2022: "This is my official, my one and only time I'll talk about this, where I am officially declaring my fealty to the PGA Tour," Rahm said. "I'm a PAC member, and I have a lot of belief in (commissioner) Jay Monahan and the product that they're going to give us in the future. There has been a lot of talk and speculation about the Saudi league. It's just not something I believe is the best for me and my future in golf, and I think the best legacy I can accomplish will be with the PGA Tour." Of course a lot has changed from almost two years ago, but officially declaring fealty either means something, or it doesn't. He said his lifestyle wouldn't change with $400 million. He doesn't play golf for monetary reasons, and he wants to play against the best in the world. LIV is not where the best in the world play. So that would be a departure as well. Based solely on how steadfastly against this he has been since the beginning all the way up until a few months ago, you can pretty easily convince yourself that the rumors are just typical LIV rumors. This has happened before (many times), and Jon has even had to deny them on Twitter. However: Just because there have been many, many (many) rounds of bullshit rumors to come out of the LIV corner of the internet, it does not mean that this one is wrong. Jon has not denied anything this time around. His team has not responded when asked for comments on the rumors at hand. This has been out there for over a week, with no comment and no denial. At least one player who reached out to Rahm directly to ask did not receive a reply from him. "You didn't deny it so it must be true" is a really tough standard to hold someone to, but something is definitely different this time around. No one we've talked to is sure of anything, but nobody is definitively shooting this down. Other breadcrumbs we've picked up have led us to believe that this is either one enormous (and bizarre) negotiation tactic, or that he is in fact going to LIV. We will surely discuss all of this on the podcast on Sunday.

Massive news. All eyes are on Blockie. Have not seen any movement from him as of yet. Still basking in the glow of beating the shit out of actual club pros in Southern California for the first few days of this week on his Insta.
