Rycotewood Furniture

@rycotewood_oxf is looking for someone to teach furniture making to year 1 degree students. This is a one year post, one day per week with potential for more teaching and a permanent contract. Please contact chris.hyde@activatelearning.ac.uk to express your interest.

We challenged 10 furniture students at @rycotewood_oxf to create a piece of storage from 3 cubic metres of red oak - the finished pieces are all unique and beautifully crafted. americanhardwood.org/index.php/en/e…

Our new @rycotewood_oxf City & Guilds Furniture students are @CityofOxfordCol today to look around the Summer Show and take part in a taster workshop activity. They will be making a toast rack from steam bent ash.

A (not surprisingly) quiet Saturday @SylvaFoundation but Sunday was busier @OxonArtweeks exhibition of @rycotewood_oxf work with furniture and art by a wide range of woodworkers. Exhibition conts. Sat/Sun 26/27 May. Pieces on display and for sale include the production table.

Design development over at @rycotewood_oxf where the students are working with #americanredoak to create an object for storage. Looking forward to seeing the latest designs tomorrow!

One month to go before the @rycotewood_oxf annual Summer Show @CityofOxfordCol A wonderful celebration of finely crafted and thoughtfully designed furniture.

Year 2 FdA @rycotewood_oxf students are nearing the end of their Advanced Communications module. They have used AutoCAD, 3DSMax and Photoshop to produce some great presentations.

@rycotewood_oxf BA students spent Tuesday at Paul Wilkinson's photography studio in Haddenham on Tuesday. We are looking forward to seeing the final images of their work, individual portraits and the 'team photo'. Thanks to Paul for being an excellent host.

Second year @rycotewood_oxf students have been photographing their chairs this week. Students visited and were critiqued by @Ercol_Furniture designers and makers throughout the project.
