Nottinghamshire Police tried to stop us reporting matters of public interest and when it didn't go the way they wanted it to, they reported us to our regulator. Thankfully, IPSO saw sense and threw their complaint out. For the Chief Constable to say now that this was a mistake is quite frankly pathetic. Instead of trying to protect their reputation, the force and Chief Constable should have been communicating properly with the people who really matter here - the families of the victims and the survivors of those horrific attacks. nottinghampost.com/news/nottingha…

I was told before Nottinghamshire County Council’s meeting today media had to sit upstairs - we usually sit in the chamber. No solid reason why. Reports of several empty seats in the chamber - random. We’ve argued it. Told I’ll be allowed back in after lunch. #LDReporter

Nottinghamshire County Council's Reform leadership has stopped us reporting from the council chamber without any explanation why. Our reporter was told to report on a key meeting from an upstairs room, even though there were at least five empty seats. We've challenged it.

This was dealt with incredibly poorly by @NottsCC - they could have let us back in, there were lots of empty seats, but instead they blindly stick to their guns and the Reform members applaud.

Just on the train home from the Regional Press Awards after a very successful afternoon. I would like to say something thoughtful and articulate but I am several pints in. All I can say is thank you so much to everyone who has supported what my team and I are trying to build. We are very lucky that we get to make a living from reporting on Wales. There is no better patch and no better place to be as a reporter. Not a bad day considering last week Reform banned us from their press conference for apparently not being proper journalists. Off to chow down on some preemptive paracetamol.

@Bren4Bassetlaw Some are more cautious than others, but it's not to restrict debate, it's to protect victims. It's so easy to find yourself in a world of legal trouble as a publisher over something like this

@samdimmer The Sun, Daily Mail and LBC all reported it without restricting comments. BBC and Sky News do it far more than others from what I gather.

Another example of a media outlet turning comments off. This is getting rather tedious now. What are they afraid of? People giving an opinion?
