@annreynolds988 Me too! But it seems that they often are in the same place every year, so I guess it makes sense. There are rivers that appear less often and we map those! :-)

@samwilson Spooky! I would've thought Christmas trees were extremely transient.

Was there a recent thing about mapping public/municipal Xmas trees? I can't find the details now, but have found a tree. Doesn't really feel like sort of thing I'd map, but I guess they're often as seasonal and predictable as many other things. #OpenStreetMap

I'm glad to see that Digital Ocean now has a Sydney data centre (I assume it's a data centre and not a data center). I guess I'll be moving some stuff there. It's even got Spaces (object storage), which is what I was waiting for Linode to have in Sydney;… @samwilson/109429593287805550" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">wikis.world/@samwilson/109…

Green Square #library is amazing. Desks the right height, lots of natural light even though it's underground, and seemingly an awareness that people with laptops are not grubby freeloaders. I've had a lovely time here poking at #Queenstown items on #Wikidata.

All I was trying to do was a little check of some #Wikisource author template parameters, but now I'm five steps removed from that and working on releasing new versions of a library used by a library used by a library that I wanted to use to check the… @samwilson/109401712853535273" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">wikis.world/@samwilson/109…

Yesterday was the 75th anniversary of the Australind #train service. Hurrah for the train manager who had a rhyme for every stop, e.g.: "You wouldn't be wrong / if you thought the next stop was Mundijong." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australin…

The problem with #Wikimedia conferences is that they leave you with 74 things that you Definitely Intend to follow up on. There is a chance, however, that not all will be seen to.

This #Wikidata import of All The Hotels is rather annoying sometimes. #Coogee is full of hotels and B&Bs and so is #WikiShootMe! But they're not super interesting to photograph, and I'm sure there are more entities around here that should have P625 (or maybe need to be created).

The Tasman (see 🐘Adzebill@ausglam.space I know what sea it is!) is dark and windy and cliffy just here.

Day six in #Sydney and I'm finally sitting in some green space. Something of a scrubby park, but it's lovely after being inside buildings for days. The "living walls" of Central Park are impressive but they don't really feel very relaxing.

"So 'Wikimedia sister project' means that only women can work on it?" 😆 Wikimedia jargon can be pretty confusing. (Venuslui talking about how we communicate to people outside the movement.) #ESEAP
