There are certain things you pick up better on TV… and certain things you pick up on the ground. Last two games at the stadium… one thing that looked very evident was that HK’s physical conditioning isn’t what it used to be. Understandable. He’s retired from international cricket. Doesn’t play round the year now. That second wind he would find to destroy attacks as a finisher may not happen anymore. You can see he gets tired once he gets to about 30-40. But it doesn’t matter. He may not be a destroyer anymore… but he’s the orchestrator. He may not be a finishing bulldozer anymore… but he’s our architect. It’s a massively crucial role. And how excellently he’s taken to it! This is SRH’s third win in this IPL season while defending a total, most by any team (they lost another game with just 1 ball remaining against LSG). Interestingly, it’s their bowling attack people were making fun of after their first game.
