Walkable mixed use developments are possible, and people are building them. But those people have to fight: the politicians the planners the engineers the fire marshall the bankers the appraisers and the neighbors

@EricJac49612546 @Boenau So drivers have no responsibility to either come to a full stop at an intersection with a stop, check to ensure the way is clear before proceeding, or even to yield to people legally using a crosswalk... Gotcha, it is always the fault of a person who is walking... 🙄

@Boenau This is a perfect example of why we have so many pedestrian accidents. No respect for the dangers of walking in the street, a careless and arrogant attitude that one should be able to dart into traffic and be free of any responsibility. This pedestrian should face severe fines.

The street is already narrow and already has a stop sign. Engineering can only get you so far without strict traffic enforcement.

A better world is possible if you can imagine it.

This should be in every traffic engineering text book.
