Firefighters are responding to a two-car collision with one vehicle overturned on southbound Highway 17 near Highway 9 reported at 5:46pm One lane of traffic is closed to allow a tow truck space to safely remove the vehicle from the scene. Drivers are urged to follow posted speed limits and minimize distractions while driving.

UPDATE: The fire on Kuehnis Dr. was knocked down at approximately 1:46PM. Firefighters will remain on scene until approx. 4PM. Due to fire damage to exterior windows, residents in 8 units are currently displaced and being assisted by @RedCrossNorCal. There were no injuries as a result of this fire and the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters are responding to a 2-alarm fire on the 400 block of Kuehnis Dr. reported at 12:58PM at an apartment complex in Campbell. @CampbellPolice is assisting with evacuations and road closures. Please avoid the area. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Early this morning around 8am, SCCFD and @LGMSpolice responded to reports of several fires in Los Gatos within close proximity. By approximately 9am, with assistance from @CHPSanJose, the suspect involved was located on Highway 17, arrested, and later booked into jail for arson. There are no other suspect outstanding at this time. The investigation is being led by the SCCFD fire investigation team, which includes arson investigators from @CampbellPolice. We would like to reassure the public there is no ongoing threat to public safety. This swift resolution and arrest were due to timely reporting by community members, a quick response by patrol officers, and the ongoing collaborative relationships we have with our allied agency partners.

Today, we honor and remember Fire Captain Mark McCormack. Twenty-one years ago, Captain McCormack lost his life while operating on a structure fire in Los Gatos. His courage, leadership, and dedication to serving others remain a lasting part of our Department’s history. This morning, personnel observed a moment of silence in his memory. @SCCComm911 assisted by broadcasting the moment of silence announcement over the emergency radio system, allowing members to pause and reflect together. #SCCFD and @sccfirefighters Local 1165 stand united in remembrance. Captain McCormack, you are not forgotten. We honor your service and your sacrifice. Rest in peace.
