For the first time, surgeons have successfully transplanted a genetically altered pig’s heart into a patient. The procedure may bring new hope to hundreds of thousands of people with organ failure. nyti.ms/3r3TpXY

Just discussed a very interesting paper (rdcu.be/b6td2) by @abdon_pf, Jung, H., @melikcdemirel, and @metin_sitti. Recently published in @NatureMaterials, this work features a remarkably fast-healing and high-strength bio-inspired material. #UWPOLYlit @UWChemistry
