@metrbocker I think Peter Hedges lived/lives in NYC, he was just raised in Iowa and went to college in North Carolina. I'm still a big fan of "Pieces of April" and point to it as a great example of low-budget filmmaking. (Shot on a Sony DV camera that sells for about $300 in 2023.)

@scottwsmith_com saw your blog on Pieces of April - was just on. I’m shocked hes not from New York. I live in Brooklyn. That could easily be my building. I feel like that’s a movie somebody would cast now but it’s not to virtue signal it’s just human NY story with universality.
