@TelegraphDucker I thought they could do something retrospective if it was missed by VAR in the game? Or was this checked, and okayed by them?

FA not in a position to investigate & potentially take retrospective action on this one as it was said to be seen at the time. Raises more questions about what VAR are doing if the referee missed it. It’s a blatant stamp & warrants a red card & 3 match ban for violent conduct

@Ankaman616 Heart actually says A, but head says C+, but maybe scrapping a B. It's all about the front 3 clicking, and those goalie errors stopping. In Rube's system, if working properly, the 2 should get plenty of support in the middle from both full backs defending, and a 10 going forward

@arghkid @R_o_M @Ankaman616 It is 3 games of the season only, but there were disastrous midfield performances in 2 of those games (mildly fair if you say all 3 too), and he both didn't play a minute in 2, where there were only 4 subs made in 1, and 2 CBs subbed on on 87' ahead of him in the other

This is correct. There is a lot of guessing going on at moment with transfers elsewhere. The deal is close as we reported but still not agreed with club or player. Further talks will hopefully get that to happen in coming days.

@htomufc Well, you say that, but you also saw the beginning of last season, when he was trying to do some of his "beliefs". Those first two games were LvG's Leicester 5-3 loss. This game at the weekend were Moyes' cross spamming game against... Fulham. It's all gone wrong IMO

Ten Hag is trying to prevent a problem that hasn’t occurred yet. He’s trying to put out a fire that hasn’t been set a light yet.
Throw individuals in these spaces and prove it’s their level of conviction and execution of their roles which is the problem.

I believe the reservations ETH has with his pressing structure is to protect Maguire/Varane or whoever it is being dragged high/wide.
But it’s got to the point where I would rather see a properly coached pressing structure with bad execution of the roles than whatever we’re seeing now.
I want to see the personnel struggle to perform in the spaces they’re being ask to cover — it’s got to that point now.

This was a few seconds into the game, by the way. There’s no excuses as to why this should be happening. And I hate to say it but this individual segment is a coaching fault. Some pressing moments aren’t all on Ten Hag but this one is entirely on him.

@Ankaman616 @RichardAmofa After nearly 2 seasons of Antony, while I don't think he's what we need, long-term, I'm more frustrated by Elanga going for peanuts and spending 100m for a worse player, with multiple red flags, and seemingly not fast enough, nor strong enough for the Prem. That's my pet peeve

@RichardAmofa The serious answer is Ten Hag saw Kudus as more of a pivot player than an option on the right wing. Summer 2022 was also a year too early for him to leave the Netherlands.
