Hospitals, aged‑care homes, supermarkets and households all rely on regular waste collection. Yet Labor has left waste services off the priority fuel list — despite industry warnings that public health issues could emerge within 48 hours if trucks can’t refuel. When even rubbish collection is in doubt, it’s clear the government hasn’t planned for this fuel crisis. Essential services must be treated as essential.

Report Fuel Shortages in Your Area! Help your local Nationals, Liberal and LNP MP stay up to date with fuel supply issues affecting our local community. Your report goes directly to your Nationals, Liberal or LNP representative. This will help us fight to ensure our area gets its fair share of the fuel supply and keep Australia moving.

Australians are living through fuel shortages, stations are running dry, and businesses are being forced to stop work, yet Labor claims there’s more fuel than before the crisis. It’s time to stop the spin, take responsibility, and tell Australians the truth. I moved a motion in the Senate this afternoon about this.

Across the country, fuel costs and shortages are hitting hard.
The Labor Government accuses the Coalition of fearmongering. This is not fearmongering, it is what Australians are experiencing now!
When global energy experts warn of a major crisis, government must focus on the problem at hand and the people living it every day. Australians deserve leadership grounded in reality.

There has been avid discussion about the resurgence of rock, punk and heavy metal music in 2026, so on Weekend Today, I took the opportunity to offer a lighter moment on Weekend Today, confessing that I missed the headbanging phase altogether. See my response on the Today Show to the apparent rise in popularity of heavy metal music.

Latest analysis indicates that boys have fallen materially behind girls in literacy and school completion, with higher dropout rates. A concerning statistic is that the number of males teachers in primary school has plummeted. When I went to primary school, approximately 40 percent of teachers were men. That figure has now fallen below 18 per cent. See my comments on the Today Show.

I spoke on the Today Show about soaring fuel costs on the weekend. The Labor Government has been asleep at the wheel and has been blaming Australians for buying fuel in the face of all the uncertainty. We must do everything we can to become self-sufficient in terms of our energy requirements. Given our abundance of energy there is no excuse.

Thank you to the Iranian Society of Queensland for hosting a wonderful Nowruz event in the Queen Street Mall.
Nowruz, celebrated for thousands of years, embodies renewal, hope, and unity. It is the New Year celebrated across Iran.
This has been a very difficult time for the Iranian Australian community, many of whom came to Australia seeking refuge from the dictatorship in Iran.
It was a time to celebrate Nowruz and to show solidarity with the Iranian people seeking democracy and freedom.
It was also a time to recognise the courage of the members of our Iranian Australian who have spoken out against the current Iranian regime and supported the brave protesters for democracy in Iran.

Thank you to the Vedanta Centre for holding a wonderful Harmony Day celebration in Springfield over the weekend.
There was great entertainment with the Jade Ensemble providing a brilliant fusion of music inspired by sounds from Japan, Spain, Nepal and our Aboriginal first people.
There were stalls and cultural performances and presentations by a range of speakers.
The Vedanta Centre is open to everyone and provides support and assistance to those in need in our local area.
Thank you for everything that you do.
