The “get-back” shot is way too prevalent in high school basketball. A guy hits a shot in your grill, good for him. You don’t need to get him back! The percentage of that shot has to be so incredibly low.

A bad shot is a turnover. It kills momentum and drains the energy of the four other players on the floor. Treat it with the same seriousness.

@CoachRostampour Rip screens becoming more common as with lots of early action and quick ball movement, can be hard to communicate and defend.

I need some help. What are the most common actions used on college teams? I’ve got pin downs, Iverson cut, Spain back screen, zoom action. What else am I missing?

Proud of this kid. To produce like this while also performing well on the defensive end and with leadership. Going well beyond what I would expect of a freshman at the AAAA level.

Rick Barnes made a great point tonight, and it's something that makes so much sense but I'd never thought of it in that exact way. Barnes said one of the biggest keys to any team's improvement during the season is the work ethic of those 3-4 guys on every team who probably don't play as many minutes as they should. He said if those guys are maniacs every day in practice and consistently push the main rotation guys, a team will get better.

Bad teams lose focus. Average teams focus on winning. But *great teams* focus on getting better—every single day.
