@saumya1singh At what age were you when you first talked about dating? As we age, we move through 'age groups' talking about previous age groups as if we were never there. Have we become 'age profiles'? Or did our elders think about us the way we think about our those younger we've profiled?

@DrHCaldicott @crikey_news @DrHCaldicott I remember when you were writing about the Cuban Missile crisis and how people claimed nukes were fake. I think you called them 'denialists'. You were right back then. With today's leaders making nukes sound like a campfire. Do you see those denialists today?

A 20-year-old man who pleaded guilty to rape and sex abuse of four teenage girls will face no jail time.

@FOX5Vegas Totally, and irrevocably shameful. He should have been tossed into prison and taught what it's like to be held against his will, and raped. But the court has ruled.
I trust the "girls" will hound him for life with law suits.

@IFRCSociety I'm tied to disability issues and when I hear "long term care" (LTC) I think of everyone from birth to the very old.
And I do see many programs available for disabled than LTC for seniors. Perhaps a louder voice is needed when it comes to LTC assistance.
English

Hello Everyone,
Broadview interviewed Paul Gauthier as part of this important article which spotlights ppl with disabilities across Canada who live in long term care facilities, & how funding support could help them live in the community.

@DrHCaldicott @commondreams Same in Canada.
In 1989 Ottawa voted unanimously to end child poverty by the year 2000. As of March 2021, 26% of children or 1 in 5 are surviving in abject poverty.
Politicians did say they'd do something about child poverty, they increased it.

Not our words but the words of the Auditor General in January this year. We'll give this a closer look, but doubt many / any of the changes in Bill 22 address the multitude of issues found here. 2/2 bcauditor.com/pubs/2021/it-a…

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Next time someone asks you "but, how do we pay for it?" when it comes to any and every life affirming policy in this country and your response doesn't include the comparison to the Military Industrial Complex, then....let's talk.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders
Year after year, the Military Industrial Complex gets whatever it wants and they get it in a bipartisan way. When it comes to tax breaks for the wealthy on top, no problem. But when it comes to the needs of working families, we 'can't afford it.' Give me a break.

@Bzubyk Buy we DO have energy resources in Canada. We just need to force corporate greed and politicians to invest in Canada instead of foreign energy resources.

Nothing says build back better than folks filling up Jerry cans with gas in BC. If only we had energy resources in Canada. #cdnpoli
