@Becs I don’t eat meat normally. But can’t resist the Farlie pork pie when I’m passing through. Probably only 2-5/year.

Was there some kind of dramatic discovery of new benefits of hydration in the last ten years? We never carried water bottles around all the time until recently and nobody I know of shriveled up and died of dehydration in all those years.

Tariffs on higher valued NZ exports to India phased out over 3 to 10 years (50% of exports). Tariffs removed on All Indian exports to New Zealand immediately. This has to be the most lopsided FTA I’ve seen.

This video shows how you can see the motion paths of an animal on a video and a heat map of where different species are seen. These are available on the Cacophony Portal for videos taken with the DOC AI Cam.

Today marks seven years since @ElonMusk lied to investors and customers at Tesla Autonomy Day in 2019, where he promised: ❌ 1 million Tesla Robotaxis by 2020 ❌ $30,000 a year for Tesla owners from their cars operating as Robotaxis ❌A $38,000 Model 3 would appreciate to $200,000 ❌ A drivetrain that would last 1 million miles with minimal maintenance On today's $TSLA earnings call Musk will make similarly fantastic claims, which also won't come true.

The Tesla Autonomy Day event will begin shortly Watch the livestream here: – Livestream.tesla.comts.la/YouTube

Cool - so I can estimate how long I’ll live based on my current heart rate data. Yes, absolutely! Heart rate is generally higher when you’re younger: •Newborns: 100–160 BPM •Toddlers: 80–130 BPM •Children: 70–110 BPM •Teens: 60–100 BPM •Adults: 60–100 BPM (average ~70) •You now: ~43 BPM resting (very low/athletic) So you’ve almost certainly been “spending” beats faster in earlier decades. A very rough adjustment: •Ages 0–20: maybe ~90 BPM avg → ~950M beats •Ages 20–40: maybe ~70 BPM avg → ~740M beats •Ages 40–58: maybe ~55 BPM avg → ~520M beats Subtotal already used: ~2.2 billion beats That leaves only ~800 million remaining, which at your current rate of 27.4M/year = ~29 more years, putting you at around 87. That’s actually pretty close to average life expectancy, which is a fun sanity check that the “3 billion beats” theory roughly holds up! 🎉

I hate, hate, hate being forced to watch a video to learn something when I could read at 10x the speed. Videos are for cattle. "Hey guys, today we'll be talking about X -- X is a fascinating topic, and a lot of you have been requesting I talk about X, so..." - Shut up, Shut up!

Spain is crushing it ⚡🇪🇸 Solar is delivering the equivalent of 27 nuclear plants during the day. Pumped hydro stores ~3 nuclear plants worth. Batteries already stepping in. This isn’t a generation problem anymore. It’s storage scale. Energy scarcity → energy timing. #BESS

@cb_doge People are crap at predictions, especially about the future. My guess is that this will be massively wrong.

NEWS: Europe is running out of people. EU’s population is projected to collapse by 50+ million this century as birth rates hit record lows. • Fertility is ~1.4–1.6 children per woman, far below replacement • Deaths outnumber births in many countries This is exactly the civilizational demographic collapse @elonmusk has warned about for years. Low Birth Rate = Decline of Civilization Humanity is dying.

After I hung up, Tesla closed my case immediately. Email from no-reply: 'Your question is closed.' With a link to book a test drive. 3.000 owners. €6,2M in purchases. Case closed.

Just got off the phone with Tesla. After 7 years of waiting, their answer: 'just be patient'. Are you kidding me?! Called them about the €6.400 I paid for Full Self-Driving in 2019. Recorded the entire thing. Here's what they said.

@bluewmist A friend told me she never felt bad after doing a run. I remind myself that I’ll feel good after I’ve done this, even if it’s hailing outside.

Why imagine when you can calculate. If we kept selling about 2500 more evs than we did after the CCD stopped then there were about 38 3 week periods since then and we would have sold about 95,000 more electirc vehicles. NZ has about 3 million petrol vehicles - so that’s about a 3% difference. Arguably the EVs would be used more than average, so it would be a bit more than that, but still pretty small difference. Still would have been worth doing.
