When a marginalized group of people are telling you that your lore is offensive, you need to listen. It’s the responsibility of white people to elevate those voices and change behavior when it is necessary.

ok & wrt the other stuff.. da as a series has a history of racist writing, specifically anti-indigenous stuff surrounding the dalish. the series’ writers have course corrected [to a degree], and we as fans (esp white fans) have a responsibility to educate ourselves-

respectfully, i think we need to keep this quote from gaider (from a now defunct forum) in mind when creating dalish ocs and building on existing lore

cherry-picking aspects of indigenous cultures and demonizing them in the same breath is anti-indigenous. while it may not a conscious action, it is up to each person to decolonize how they understand beauty standards and how we interact with the problematic writing of da races
