I wish Nigerian politicians would capitalize on the fact that Nigerians are very appreciative people and use that as a reason to work for the people. It doesn’t make them any less of a politician. Just look at this beautiful testimony from a patient who was admitted to a Lagos public hospital. Nigerians will always come out and tell the world when things go well. This is one thing I commend Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for. The health system has drastically improved under his administration. These are key sectors that have truly improved under him, and I must give him his flowers 💐. Even some local government chairmen are doing very well. They directly oversee the healthcare facilities under their jurisdiction and take very good care of them. This is another day to encourage our politicians and public officers: when you find yourself in power, use it as an opportunity to serve the people. Let the people be the ones to come out and tell the world about the good things you are doing. That is what makes you a brilliant person. It makes you an excellent leader. One thing I’m sure of is that if truly the yorubas got the Gele from the igbos, they’d have called it “gele-igbo”. Like they did with Fila Hausa, Ewa agonyin, garri igbo, Abuja yam, ope oyinbo and others. We don’t like appropriation.
