Does FSD actually work when you cross into a country it’s approved in? Short answer: yes.
Long answer: it cost me a night of sleep, a bucket of fish soup, and possibly my will to live. Read and wheep 👇🏼
Left Amsterdam yesterday at 13:00. Drove up through Germany, picked up a buddy along the way, livestreamed crossing the border into Denmark together. Dropped him off, then kept going to test FSD in a couple of small Danish towns. Did three livestreams from the road.
The actual driving? Most anticlimactic thing ever. FSD just worked. New country, same Tesla, same calm confidence. Crossed an international border and the car didn’t care. That’s the whole point, and also the most boring part of this story. But we had tons of fun.
Then the chaos started.
Was supposed to crash at someone’s place, they said the door would be open. Get there, locked. Call them, 6 times. Nothing. Call the wife. Nothing. Didn’t want to ring the bell because they’ve got a small baby and I wasn’t about to be that guy.
Fine. I’m in Timmendorfer Strand, basically the German Zandvoort, touristy as hell.
Found a hotel, booked it on the spot. The Cozy Hotel. Late checkout, breakfast looked great, I’m thrilled. Drive over feeling like I just won the day.
Ring the night bell. Lady opens up and asks if my key doesn’t work.
My key? I don’t have a key. I made the reservation 20 minutes ago.
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
I show her the booking confirmation.
“No, there’s nothing in our system.”
“You haven’t even checked yet.”
“No. We don’t have any rooms.”
At this point I’m standing there at midnight wondering what I did to deserve this. She actually suggests I sleep in my car. Which, sure, would’ve been fine, except my @snuuzu mattress wasn’t with me.
She felt bad though. Gave me food. Insisted on it.
The food was fish soup. In a literal mayonnaise bucket. No lid, just plastic wrap over the top.
If there’s one food on this planet that makes me physically gag, it’s mushrooms. And fish soup.
Drove off, found the first trash can, said goodbye to the soup.
I thought fuck it. Screw you guys, I’m going home!
Drove all the way back to Amsterdam. No FSD this time, just me and my rage. Got home at 08:30. Straight to bed. Slept 10 hours.
So yeah, FSD crossing into a country where it’s approved? Works flawlessly. Hotels in Timmendorf finding your reservation? Apparently still beta.
That’s proper dedication. Most people wouldn’t do this.
I would, apparently, do it twice if it meant proving a point about FSD.
@teslaeurope
Stopped at the shadiest and ugliest SuC ever, nothing but wins on the way back home.
Yeah but nothing too dangerous. First it wanted to go straight through an intersection using the left turn lane. Later it turned too early and went into a parking lot instead of the street it was supposed to go down. But the entire afternoon it has just been great. If been running around town with it a lot today. Huge pleasure.
This Norwegian kid visiting the US for the World Cup is straight-up floored by In-N-Out. 😂
From struggling through the order (“three burgers… only bread and meat!”) to devouring it and calling it “Delicious!” — pure joy.
Europeans come here and realize America’s high-quality life isn’t a myth. Best burgers, friendliest service, and freedom fries. 🇺🇸🍔
Me driving home knowing there won’t be a second date, but at least she knows that her evidence-based mediterranean diet was what peasants were forced to eat to keep them weak and compliant.
Day 2 of FSD driving in Denmark.
Well it’s strange… Already I’m getting use to relaxing in the car, and just enjoying it taking me around the city’s to visit my costumers. 😊
The new experience today is just like you read a lot of places, it’s really polite.
I mean it’s a good thing!
Drives better then 11/12 people on the road.
Even the devil cyclists in København are waving “thanks” when it stops for them.
That has to be the gold standard for any autonomous city driving 😂
Thank you @elonmusk for starting the wonderful company @Tesla that has given the world, safety and relaxing all in one everyday driving electric vehicle 🙏
FSD isn’t perfect yet.
That’s literally why it’s called FSD Supervised.
There was nobody behind me so I decided not to intervene. Light turned green to the right… and the car just sat there doing nothing.
After hours of it doing everything perfectly, you can already hear the frustration in my voice.
We’re so spoiled.
Trump’ın yanında yer alan garip kıyafetli kişilerin yer aldığı fotoğraf dünyada gündem oldu.
Görüntü sonrası en çok sorulan soru ise: “Yanındakiler kim?”
I just tried @Tesla#FSD🇩🇰 for the first time in my car today.
400m in:
It takes the left turn lane which is occupied rather than the straight ahead lane which was free, even though it was going straight ahead.. had to take over.
Minutes later: Goes the wrong way - even according to the navigation - turns right while saying it’ll turn left. No explanation. Then tries to park in an entrance which is visibly crossed out.
I think it’s great, but needing some ironing out.
