Photos of my recent events have prompted many to enquire about why my right foot is back in an AirCast, and what my new glasses are about. The answers are simple. After my foot injury in Parliament on February 4, I had finally felt healed enough to remove my AirCast in March and to campaign throughout Kerala in ordinary footwear. That proved unwise, as a post-campaign MRI revealed, and I am back in protective gear for some more time. As to the glasses, a simple cataract surgery explains them; one eye last Monday, the other to follow next Monday — and another two weeks or so of dorky eyewear!

Today marked a promising beginning to the India–France Parliamentary Friendship Group. Our inaugural meeting in Delhi, with the French delegation led by Senator Mireille Jouve, reflected the depth of this vital partnership, ranging from mobility and talent flows to clean energy collaboration, defence cooperation, digital governance & AI, and shared perspectives on global challenges.
