The President can't just arrest a governor like Gavin Newsom. It's like how a school principal can't arrest a teacher without a good reason. There need to be proof of a crime and a judge's approval. Trump is upset because Newsom disagrees with him about sending soldiers to California, but that’s not a crime. Newsom is doing his job as governor, and arrests need to follow the law, not just what the President wants. Right now, there’s no evidence Newsom broke any federal laws, so Trump can’t have him arrested. They’re arguing about who controls California, but that’s a disagreement, not a reason for jail. Lawyers and courts would decide if there’s ever a real case.
